The Plastic Design Process:
Many of the parts we design at Metropolis are injection molded. However injection molding, while the most popular plastic molding process, is not the only process we have experience with. As learning about your business and plans for the product is part of our design process we can assist you in the selection of the process that best suits your product.
Our design process considers all aspects of the part. We design parts that are complete and ready for production. We carefully consider manufacturing processes, production quantities, strength, and aesthetics. Every detail, down the smallest surface curve, draft, wall thickness, assembly techniques, color, finish, texturing, ecology, are all included in the decision making process as the design evolves. Our in-house ability to quickly prototype the design for review allows us to speed the development process as we continually refine and detail the parts. Once complete, you can have total confidence in the manufacturability of parts designed by Metropolis.
